At Brightside Counseling, we understand that healing takes more than a one-hour session each week. That’s why we offer two levels of structured, evidence-based care — our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — for adolescents and teens who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy can provide.
Our programs are designed to stabilize emotions, strengthen coping skills, and rebuild confidence through a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, family involvement, and psychiatric care — all in a safe, compassionate, and developmentally-appropriate setting.

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the highest level of outpatient mental health care available before inpatient hospitalization. It provides full-day, structured treatment — typically running Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM — while allowing clients to return home each evening.
At Brightside, our PHP serves youth ages 12–16 who are experiencing significant symptoms of:
Our multidisciplinary team — including psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and behavioral health specialists — collaborates daily to help each client regulate emotions, build resilience, and transition back into school and daily life successfully.

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a step down from PHP or an enhanced level of care for teens who need more than weekly therapy but less than full-day treatment. IOP clients typically attend 3–5 days per week for several hours each day, participating in structured group therapy, skill-building sessions, and family involvement.
Our IOP helps youth who are:
Core IOP Features:

Our clinicians integrate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care into every session. The goal is to help adolescents not only understand their thoughts and feelings but learn practical, lifelong skills for emotional wellness.
We believe healing happens through:
Morning (8:00–9:00 AM): Mindfulness & Check-In Circle
Mid-Morning (9:00–11:45 AM): Group Therapy & Psychoeducation
Lunch & Community Time (11:45–12:15 PM): Building positive peer connections
Afternoon (12:15–2:45 PM): Skills Practice, Creative Arts, and Movement Reset
Wrap-Up (3:00–3:30 PM): Reflection, goal-setting, and discharge check-out
Led by Dr. Jeffrey Simon, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, and supported by our experienced therapists, nurses, and behavioral health staff, Brightside’s clinical team ensures every client receives personalized, compassionate care.
We collaborate closely with schools, primary care providers, and families to create a unified support system.
